The Facts: Household Kitchen Fires

• Cooking is the number one source of household fire
• Unattended cooking is the leading cause of household fire
• There are 100,000 reported home fires each year, most involving the stovetop
• A fire occurs every 8 minutes, while only 1 in 10 are reported
• Seniors, students and low income households are at the greatest risk

Each system consists of four attractive cast iron plates which are attached to the existing coil elements of a stove and a hidden electronic controller which monitors and controls the temperature of each plate. By keeping the plate temperature below the ignition temperature of oil and other common household materials the Safe-T-element™ cooking system is able to help prevent cooking fires without sacrificing cooking performance.
